We are excited to introduce our new-look OranjeWind website, designed with you in mind! Our goal was simple: to make it easier for you to find the information you need, access important resources, and stay updated on everything we are doing.
OranjeWind project marks start of construction phase with stakeholder event

The OranjeWind offshore wind project started 2025 not with a proverbial bang but with a stakeholder event to mark the transition into construction phase for the 795MW offshore wind project. Hosted by OranjeWind joint venture partners RWE and TotalEnergies at RWE's Utrecht office, the celebration event was attended by project-related stakeholders, including partners involved in the realisation of the OranjeWind project.

Well-attended pitch breakfast at the Amer Power plant

Nearly 100 visitors attended the iTanks Pitch breakfast at RWE’s Amercentrale on October 17 2024, where four start-ups delivered lightning pitches about their innovations in system integration.

During a hydrogen inspiration day, MBO teachers and companies were invited to the RWE site in Lin-gen for presentations and a tour of a pilot electrolyser installation.

RWE signs Dutch Wind Apprenticeships Covenant

On 13 June 2024, RWE signed the Dutch Wind Apprenticeships Covenant, a joint initiative launched by MBO schools and the wind energy sector to guarantee apprenticeships for MBO students and help reduce long-term labour market shortages.

Indeximate Ltd., a start-up founded in the UK in 2022, has won RWE’s second global Innovation Competition. The competition was launched with the aim to find innovative solutions in the domains of system integration, circularity and environmental protection in offshore wind that can support RWE´s growth ambitions and sustainability targets.

Regional investment fund project ‘Daar brandt nog licht' kicks off with symposium

The MBO Brabant Knowledge Pact, along with Avans and Fontys universities of applied sciences and industry partners including RWE, have launched an initiative dedicated to transparent, innovative and flexible degree programmes geared towards the energy transition in Noord Brabant. This distinctively regional project was called “Daar brandt nog licht”, after the well-known lyric of the Guus Meeuwis classic Brabant.

Getting young people excited about the energy transition: RWE partners up with 'Your Energy Tomorrow’ science truck

How do you get schoolchildren excited about science, technology and the energy transition? That was the question on the mind of the University of Groningen’s Faculty of Science and Engineering when it launched its science truck in 2005. RWE started partnering the truck on 1 January 2024, as an important part of the OranjeWind Knowledge programme is training enough skilled workers to meet demand, now and in the future.

Energietalenten is a scholarship programme for the energy sector, in which Master’s students and companies work closely together to help fuel the energy transition. RWE is a proud partner of this programme and sponsors two scholarships for Master’s students every year.

It is now common knowledge that skilled STEM workers are in high demand. With the energy industry looking for new, talented people to help facilitate the energy transition, RWE organised a knowledge exchange day for several MBO schools on 12 October 2023.

RWE joins pilot of Smart Energy Delivery Lab Training course

Avans University of Applied Sciences has developed a Smart Energy Lab Training course as part of the Smart Energy Delivery Lab (SEnD Lab). During a short but intensive learning process, participants build a solid foundation to get started with the energy transition. In the pilot, RWE contributed its expertise to help fine-tune the curriculum.

RWE looking for system integration innovators for Sustainable Industry Challenge

RWE is participating in this year's Sustainable Industry Challenge, an initiative of Chemport Europe based in the northern Netherlands. RWE is looking for innovations in fields of storage, asset management and electrification that contribute to system integration. Entries can be submitted until 16 June 2023 and winners will be announced this November.
